To pre-tension the mattress and ensure the fillings are held in place a hand tufted finish is applied by passing tapes through it at regular intervals and securing them on both sides with a cotton tuft. Its open coil interior is an extremely hard wearing system that is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire..
